In the SCHERDELGroup numerical simulation is carried out by SCHERDEL SIMENT, which is a calculation service provider operating independently on the market. Since 1996 the now 10 calculation engineers offer simulations in structural mechanics, fluid mechanics and electromagnetism. The customers of Siment come from various industries. Automotive industry, semiconductor production, ceramics and plastic processing, tool machine construction, ventilation technology and inductive thermal processes. In many areas we can contribute with our know-how in early development phases to make the right decisions for optimising products and processes.

Modelling of high-strength materials and their forming as well as non-linear dynamics of springs are high-end topics in which SIMENT is able to make highly accurate predictions. Deviations less than 5% and therefore “first time right” prototypes are standard.

The consideration of material and manufacturing tolerances right from the design phase allows an early analysis of the limits of the manufacturing process. The return flow of this knowledge into design results in very robust production processes.

The interdisciplinary cooperation of mechanical engineers, material scientists, physicists and mathematicians on the basis of numerical simulation is particular impressive in the SCHERDEL SpringDesigner calculation software in which the latest scientific knowledge has already been incorporated.
